The 63 km² Podyjí National Park, which follows the meandering River Dyje, is known for its exceptional scenery and mosaic of stone amphitheatres. Those who have not experienced it, do not know what true beauty is!

Do you like hanging out in wine cellars? What happens in a wine cellar, stays in the wine cellar. And have you seen the Painted Cellar (in Czech: Malovaný sklep)? It´s a local curiosity that´s well worth a visit!

The lake behind the 30 km long Vranov Dam, which contains almost 133 million cubic metres of water, is a favourite summer destination among tourists.

The surroundings of the Happy Star Hotel are ideal for cycling – on individual bikes or with a tandem. We are happy to recommend one of the many cycle routes that start directly at the hotel and take you through the beautiful countryside.

Our hotel is located in the historical town of Hnanice near the Podyjí National Park. The town is dominated by the Church of Saint Wolfgang which dates back to the 13th century.

From Hnanice to Austria is the shortest of journeys imaginable, so make sure you take the opportunity to visit Heiliger Stein – the holy stones - just over the border.
